This blog was created to show how Iphones have changed our society and made us a more participatory culture. Since the Iphone was created and sold to the public it has significantly changed peoples ways of socialization and everyday living. We have created a remix video to the song Your a Jerk, but the video is about people with Iphones.
Our video that we produced is remixing the Your a Jerk song, we created our own lyrics about the coveted IPHONE. For our video we interviewed people around the Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi campus who currently own Iphones we asked them three simple questions,
1. What would you do without your Iphone?
2. Are you addicted to your Iphone?
3. What is the best part/do you like best about your Iphone?
Next we created a song to go with our video specifically about Iphones and the capabilities that are available to you if you own an Iphone.
We would like to send a special thanks to all the people who participated in this video without you all this couldn't be possible.
This is another remixed version of the Your a Jerk Video. Unlike the I'm at Work video which was created by the same production value and aspiring rappers remixing a popular video.
Yet, this video is done by fans of the song which chose to remake the song from Your a Jerk to Your a Nerd. As opposed to the other remixed version of the song this video was shot on a handheld camera and created by regular people. This is also another valid example of how remix culture works, they took a song and created it into a whole different entity using the resources they had available.
The video below is a remix of the original song Your a Jerk. This remix was actually done by the same producers that created to Your a Jerk Video.
For the rappers in this remix this is not the first song that they have remixed. They are using remix culture to create a path for themselves to gain stardom.
This is a prime example of remix culture. Where you can take an original piece of music, movie or picture and recreate it into something else.
